Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at nicole@southernrootsayurveda.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Ayurveda is an ancient holistic healing system from India that focuses on balancing the mind, body, and spirit to promote overall health and well-being.

No, Ayurveda is a complementary approach. It supports conventional medical care but does not replace it. Always consult your primary healthcare provider for medical assessments and care.

You'll receive a comprehensive assessment of your unique constitution, lifestyle, and health concerns, followed by personalized recommendations for diet, lifestyle adjustments, and herbal support to enhance your overall wellness.

Ayurveda uniquely focuses on individualized support based on your specific constitution (doshas) and current imbalances, aiming to restore harmony and balance in a holistic manner.

Experiences vary depending on individual health conditions and commitment to lifestyle changes. Some notice improvements within weeks, while others may require several months for more noticeable progress.

No, Ayurveda incorporates various aspects such as diet, lifestyle practices, herbal support, yoga, meditation, and mindful living to support holistic wellness.

Doshas are the three fundamental energies that govern our mind and body. Understanding your unique dosha combination is key to personalized Ayurvedic support.

How To Prepare for Your Consultation

For your convenience, I come to you to make you more comfortable in your space. Because Ayurveda focuses on your environment, it can be helpful to see how you live. Because you are more comfortable, you may be more relaxed.

No specific changes are necessary, but it's helpful to be mindful of your eating habits for the few days leading up to the consultation. For now, there are no right or wrong foods.

Wear comfortable clothing, and feel free to be relaxed. You are the home setting, you are comfortable.

The initial consultation is scheduled for two hours, allowing ample time for a detailed discussion and assessment.

I'll ask about your health history, lifestyle, diet, sleep patterns, stress levels, and specific concerns. I will use all forms provided to start this base line.

You'll have clear guidance on diet, lifestyle, and potential herbal support, plus ongoing encouragement to help you implement these changes.

Of course, if you feel more comfortable having a spouse, close friend, or family member present during your session, feel free to have them with you.
